If we believe in a theology that does not include the possibility of contemporary Christians doing the works of Jesus -including signs and wonders - we will not have a practice of signs and wonders.

I know of a man whose wife was healed after doctors told him that she would not live through the night. The evening the doctors informed him that his wife was terminally ill, he called his church elders and asked them to come a pray for her. The elders were not convinced that God heals today, but they nevertheless came out of obligation. They prayed over her and anointed her with oil, and - to their surprise - the next day she walked out of the hospital. The doctors called it “a miracle.”
